but the title "Festival of Victims of Terrorist Attacks, 1995-2006" strikes me as disgusting. ANNOUNCEMENT May 11, 2006 Festival of Victims of Terrorist Attacks, 1995-2006: "No to Terror!" On May 14, 2006, at 6:00 p.m., the 3rd "No to Terror!" festival will open at the Cosmos Hotel (Grand Concert Hall). The festival is being organized by the Nord-Ost Regional Organization for Assistance in Protecting Victims of Terrorist Acts. Representatives of public organizations bringing together victims of terrorist attacks will take part in the festival: victims of Nord-Ost (the 2002 Moscow theater hostage crisis), Beslan; the bombings on Guryanov Street and Kashirskoye Highway in Moscow, in Volgodonsk, the explosion of Tu-134 Flight Moscow-Volgograd; the explosion of Tu-154 Flight Moscow-Sochi; the Moscow metro bombings, and victims of other terrorist attacks. On the first day of the festival, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Grand Concert Hall of the Cosmos Hotel (150 Prospekt Mira) will host a concert by rock musicians, bards, the children's troupe from the Nord-Ost musical, and others. Well-known politicians, human rights advocates, and journalists are expected to attend. On the second day of the festival, May 15 at 12:00 p.m., the House of Journalists of Russia will host the presentation of the special report "NORD-OST. An Unfinished Investigation." The report contains unique documents, previously unknown facts, and eyewitness testimony about the Dubrovka terrorist attack that has not been available before. This is the first investigation in Russia conducted by the victims of a terrorist attack themselves and by relatives of the hostages who were killed. In essence, it is an indictment of the Prosecutor General's Office, the security services, and the Russian authorities, who did nothing to ensure that the truth about these terrorist attacks became public knowledge. This report is an attempt, for the first time, to speak out loudly about violations of victims' rights in Russia and to compel the authorities to respect citizens' right to an objective investigation, a fair trial, and truthful information. Following the presentation of the special report "NORD-OST. An Unfinished Investigation" at the House of Journalists, a press conference will be held with representatives of all the terrorist attacks, who will speak about the results of the official investigations into each tragedy and their negative experiences dealing with investigators from the Prosecutor General's Office.
