Russia’s Supreme Arbitration Court has declared invalid the decision of the tender commission that selected the investor for construction of the complex on the site of the Rossiya Hotel (a famous former hotel in central Moscow). To recap, the Moscow city government held the tender in 2004, and ST-Development was declared the winner. The company received a $2.5 billion contract, of which $500 million was the estimated cost of demolition work, while the rest was the cost of constructing the new building, ITAR-TASS reports. Excellent. An absolutely outrageous and corrupt decision has been overturned. Though now everyone will start shouting that this is yet another round in the campaign against Georgians.
