Regarding this: http://matilda-don.livejournal.com/197000.html In the photos, I’m sitting at a meeting of the organizing committee for the Russian March with a big smile on my face. Let me explain. YABLOKO (a Russian liberal political party) is organizing monitoring of the Russian March. The goal is to prevent violations of the law, both by the authorities and by the participants in the event. We will also call on all human rights organizations to do the same. I will be at the Russian March, as will YABLOKO human rights activist Andrei Babushkin, and, I think, many others. I informed the organizing committee about this. They said that if I was interested, I could come to the organizing committee meeting. I was interested. So I went. It really was interesting. I was there from beginning to end. The main topics discussed were: where to gather if the march is banned how to prevent provocations how to prevent the use of Nazi symbols how to ensure the participants’ safety At the meeting, I introduced myself and suggested that the organizing committee invite human rights activists to the march as observers. My proposal was supported. I’ll answer questions in the comments.
