Just one purely technical point: right now we are witnessing the final death of television and traditional media as sources of breaking information in a crisis situation. Twitter. News agencies, radio, and TV itself — they’re all quoting messages from Twitter. The first time I thought about this was when the "events on Manezhnaya" (the Manezhnaya Square riots/protests in Moscow) were being broadcast there; now it has become obvious.
