This morning I got a whole bunch of text messages from friends. The messages roughly fall into two categories: Where did the million go?! Ha-ha. Nice vest. It turned out it was all because of the British newspaper The Guardian. They published a long, flattering article about me (obviously flattering—they're helping their agent of influence who's busy destroying Russia), complete with this illustration:

They say that RosPil has raised £1.8 million—or 85 million rubles. The speculation that I hid the real amount and am planning to spend it on a shiny suit, a car with a stereo, and a trip to Yalta (a resort city in Crimea) is incorrect. So far, this is how much money has been raised:
Which is no small amount, but still much less than 85 million. One day we'll raise 85 million too, I have no doubt. As for the vest, I honestly don't understand why foreigners are so fond of using these photos. One possible explanation is that every foreign article about me always cautiously mentions that "actually, his views are supposedly somewhat close to nationalism." And in the mind of a European or an American, a vest is a sign of a hopeless bespectacled nerd. So a "nationalist nerd" doesn't seem all that scary. UPD The error has been corrected on The Guardian's website.
