The Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Volga Federal District is continuing an additional review of materials concerning former Kirov governor’s adviser and blogger Alexei Navalny, who is suspected of pressuring KOGUP Kirovles into an unfavorable contract. According to Alexei Navalny himself, investigator Mikhail Yuldashev, who was responsible for the additional review, found no elements of a crime in the blogger’s actions and informed him of this in a letter dated March 3, 2011. At the same time, Mr. Navalny noted that he had no doubt that “the refusal order” would be overturned by yet another superior. And that is exactly what happened. As Kommersant found out, on March 11 the head of the district investigative department overturned the investigator’s ruling “due to the incompleteness of the review” from here As in previous cases, I’m learning about major developments in my “case” from the media. Well, well. Update The investigation has extended the period of the procedural review concerning Alexei Navalny—an unpaid adviser to the governor of Kirov Region, a lawyer, and a well-known blogger—until April 10, 2011, official Russian Investigative Committee spokesperson Vladimir Markin said on Monday.
