Yesterday, while I was in Kirov, our office received a call from a police officer from the Moscow Main Internal Affairs Directorate’s anti-extremism unit. He called to take a statement from me regarding a complaint that I had supposedly sent to Roskomnadzor and the police about the popular website lurkmore.ru/
They received a letter bearing my signature, containing a complaint about Lurkmore in general and this page in particular. Supposedly, it contained insults, extremism, nationalism, fascism, empiriocriticism, and so on. I assume that whoever wrote the complaint about Lurkmore in my name may have sent a dozen similar complaints about other websites as well. I officially state that I have not filed complaints about Lurkmore, or about any other websites or media outlets. There certainly are insults on Lurkmore, but that’s exactly what makes it great—that’s why we read it.
