It has already been viewed nearly half a million times. A very decent result, I think. The good news is that this conscientious citizen has said he is willing to spend a bit more of his time on two similar videos. Last time, everyone liked the technical execution, but not everyone liked the script. So this time we decided to work on the scripts together. That is why we are announcing a real creative contest, where the prize for the winner and participants will be the nasty convulsions of United Russia, jabbed with sharp sticks. So, we are making animated campaign videos with the aim of planting two ideas in the public mind: 1. United Russia is the party of crooks and thieves 2. Come to the polls and vote for any party except United Russia What is so convenient about United Russia is that you can go after it from almost any angle. There is no need to invent anything. They really are crooks and thieves. They really are sellout clowns. They really are corrupt, politically promiscuous, and incompetent. But to work more effectively on the script, we need to define the topic more specifically. I did that myself in a completely arbitrary way. Topic: Kids and relatives. The contribution of United Russia—and of the current thieving regime in general—to building a New Feudal Russia is enormous. This is not even Soviet-style nepotism; it is simply an open attempt to create a new estate. A kind of bureaucratic nobility. It looks nothing like the ball scenes in Leo Tolstoy. There is very little French and very few suicides over “dishonor,” but plenty of blue flashing buckets (a reference to the blue beacon lights used by officials’ cars in Russia) and cocaine-addled sons. In short, it is entirely fair and justified to go after United Russia for the remarkable entrepreneurial talents that seem to awaken en masse in officials’ children, allowing them to become billionaires by age 18. For example, Governor Tkachev’s niece (his party’s General Council member) or Governor Misharin’s daughter (also a member of United Russia’s General Council). If anyone can think of more child entrepreneurs, we would be grateful. Second script: a free-form piece on the theme “United Russia is the party of crooks and thieves.” Your imagination is completely unrestricted. How can you take part in working on the script? Very simply: go to the comments and post your idea. But make sure it is a top-level comment. We will read everything carefully and try to bring the best ideas to life. It will not be me personally, because my level of creativity is somewhere between a wombat and a member of Nashi (a pro-Kremlin youth movement). In other words, very low. The people who will choose are the ones who will actually make the video. By autumn, we should have our video bombs ready. Before the election, we will show them to several million people—or at least we will try. The general guidelines for the script are as follows: The script should be written for a running time of no more than 2 minutes. The text should be tightly structured, biting and harsh, but still truthful; We do not have the ability to film “Avatar,” so keep everything within reason—there is no need to propose rendering Pandora with all its flora and fauna; It is highly desirable to attach references to the script, i.e. links to videos (YouTube, VK, Vimeo, etc.) that the author would like to use as inspiration in some way. For example: “the visual style should be roughly like this—link,” or “the pacing of the video should be like this—link,” and so on. Come on out, you creative monsters! Let’s make a great video and show it to a couple of million people. Let the public get acquainted with one of the main achievements of the Party of Crooks and Thieves.
