It’s very tempting to comment on the situation with Prokhorov in an “I told you so” tone. But there’s really nothing to gloat about here. Mikhail has empirically tested whether what was written on his posters is true:

There he was at the debates, dragging out his line: "we are uniting not against, but for. We are not against, we are for positivity"—and it didn’t sound convincing. Because it was a lie. But the moment he said plainly: the disgusting Kremlin puppet master Surkov is meddling in the affairs of all political parties, demanding that dubious people be put on party lists, and censoring the media. We should demand his resignation. People immediately started applauding. Because that was the truth. Well done, I guess. Let’s wish Mikhail Prokhorov the courage to keep standing by the truth. Surkov should not be resigned—he belongs in the dock.

Prokhorov should demand that criminal proceedings be opened against this crook. There is more than enough evidence: staff from the Presidential Administration directly orchestrated the hijacking of the party congress. Interference in the affairs of a political party and obstruction of electoral rights are obvious. The censorship is obvious too, and so on. And most importantly: Mikhail must remember that "Surkov is misleading the country’s leadership" is a lie. But "Surkov is carrying out criminal orders from his superiors, including the president of the Russian Federation"—that sounds much closer to the truth. That is where the strength lies, exactly as was quite rightly written on those little yellow posters all across Russia.
