The report "The Torture and Murder of Sergei Magnitsky. The Concealment of the Truth by State Authorities" has been published on the website "Stop the Untouchables". Be sure to download it and read it. It is an interactive presentation. It is 100 pages long, but easy to read—all the documents in the presentation are clickable, so they can be examined closely. There are source references and links throughout.
Do not begrudge the time. First, you will get a very clear picture of the "Magnitsky case"—both the part connected to the theft of 5.4 billion rubles from the state budget and the part directly connected to Magnitsky’s murder and the subsequent cover-up by prosecutors, the courts, and investigators. Second, it is an expertly, logically, and meticulously constructed indictment of the power system in contemporary Russia. This generalized "power" is broken down into individual figures, and for each one it is shown that he killed, stole, or aided murderers and thieves.
The report presents new, irrefutable evidence that Magnitsky really was beaten and tortured:
The report methodically exposes the lies of all the officials involved, from investigators to Moscow City Court chair Olga Yegorova:
During 388 days in pretrial detention, Magnitsky wrote more than 400 (!) complaints, many of them about his health. And these scoundrels lie, saying "the judges did not know." The report examines in detail the sabotage of the investigation at every level, including the awards ostentatiously handed out to gangsters, and so on. You really should read it. It is a dry, truthful, and terrifying document. Everyone should know this.
