Roman Badanin, the first deputy editor-in-chief of Gazeta.ru, resigned after the website removed a project about election violations that Gazeta.ru had produced jointly with Golos (a Russian election-monitoring and human rights organization). Badanin announced this in a farewell letter to staff that was obtained by Lenta.ru. As Badanin explained, he submitted his resignation because, during the pre-election period, the work of the sections he oversaw had "stopped suiting the management and owners." He was referring to the removal from the site of the "Map of Election Violations" project, which tracked violations during the elections and in the vote count results. http://lenta.ru/news/2011/11/30/gazetaru/ The "Map of Violations" itself is here.
