On March 4, there will be not only Putin’s election, but also elections for Moscow’s municipal deputies. During the New Year holidays, think about it: would you like to run as well? Here, for your consideration, are seven reasons to become a municipal deputy. And here is some useful information if you do decide to go for it: There is an initiative called Our City — a joint project of the Moscow Association of Municipal Deputies (amdm-msk.ru) and the Deputies’ School. Its goal is to bring together all independent and opposition candidates running in the municipal elections in Moscow, which will take place on March 4, 2012. The organizers are Pyotr Miloserdov, a deputy of the municipal assembly of Moscow’s Voykovsky District, and coordinator of the Moscow Association of Municipal Deputies; and Mikhail Velmakin, a deputy of the municipal assembly of Moscow’s Otradnoye District, and organizer of the Deputies’ School.
