The magazine "Russian Reporter" published a piece about WikiLeaks files concerning the activities of the American private intelligence company Stratfor. According to the publication, Russia’s Prosecutor General Yury Chaika was listed among Stratfor’s informants. The publication’s website presents scattered excerpts from emails exchanged by the company’s employees and informants, and provides the codes of these documents in the WikiLeaks database. The WikiLeaks website began releasing Stratfor’s files on February 27. According to "Russian Reporter," in the company employees’ correspondence Chaika was listed under the code RU101. Stratfor rated the prosecutor general’s level of information as "1," meaning he was considered an informant with the highest level of trust. Thus, Chaika was one of the American intelligence company’s "key sources on Russia," the Russian WikiLeaks partner concludes. The new WikiLeaks documents deal in particular with the conflict between the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Investigative Committee, in which Chaika was involved. In one of the emails, the prosecutor general speaks of the principle of "Kremlin clan wars." According to him, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin "set the basic rules by which the clans fight one another," while "it is those in the second tier of power who lose their heads," not those holding the highest posts.
