Today, all RosPil employees—and I along with them—received some wonderful letters. From the stamp, it’s clear that we have attracted the attention of "Center E"—the Moscow Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry’s Center for Countering Extremism. They are refusing to tell our lawyer the reason for the summons (supposedly, it’s an "inspection"), which of course completely rules out our showing up. We have no idea what this so-called "demand to appear" is supposed to mean. From the contents of these strange dispatches, we see no legal grounds for taking time away from the work that many thousands of people collectively pay us to do. All the informati]({{URL_1}})on about RosPil is here. If there are grounds to issue a formal summons, that’s a different matter—then let them issue one. While I’m at it, I’d like to tell "Center E" about a real manifestation of extremism: The State Duma (the lower house of Russia’s parliament) is buying cars for 4 billion rubles. 380 of them. At 10 million rubles** apiece. In fact, it’s not even** buying them, but leasing them for use—and after three years, the cars will go free of charge to the winner of the "tender." To RosPil, what’s happening looks like blatant extremism and lawlessness. Could you look into the State Duma right after you’re done with us?
