The Good Machine of Truth is very important to all of us.
During my 15 days of “rest,” I spent a huge amount of time doing explanatory work with the people around me: drug addicts/drunk drivers/fine dodgers/police/OMON riot police/escorts/staff at the special detention center.
I can say with complete confidence: all of them support us and are ready to fight the Party of Crooks and Thieves and the Kremlin crooks no less than some hipsters from Jean-Jacques (a popular Moscow café).
You just have to find the right words.
Yes, of course, you have to patiently answer the endless, stereotypical “they stole in the old days too...,” “well, who else is there if not Putin,” and “you won’t achieve anything with rallies,” but there are answers to all of those questions.
But the fury OMON officers fly into when you explain to them in simple terms how GUNVOR works, or how many thousands of years they would have to work to earn as much as Vekselberg and officials stole in the purchase of the Ministry of Regional Development building—that’s a sight to behold.
You tell, say, the escort taking you to court about the 22-year-old billionaire niece of Governor Tkachev, suggest that he be happy for the young businesswoman, point out that it’s wrong to envy a talented girl—and immediately you get the chance to hear profanity constructions whose existence you never even suspected.
A lack of laziness, faith in victory, and a few persuasive words—and in the soul of any Russian citizen, hatred for “United Russia” rises by 146%.
You immediately hear what I heard: “Lyokha, hey, send me all that on VKontakte, I’ll pass it around to the guys.”
The truth is, neither Putin nor his Party of Crooks and Thieves supporters have any real support base. There is no UralVagonZavod, and there is no shop foreman—there are just people we haven’t worked with yet.
A couple of good leaflets, a couple of simple videos, five minutes of personal conversation about Shuvalov’s 100-million-ruble bribe, and all of UralVagonZavod, led by worker Trapeznikov and shop foreman Ryurikovich, will be writing “Putin is a thief” on every fence.
All the preconditions are there: even without any Good Machine of Truth, only 7% of people describe Putin as “honest, uncorrupt”.
Our task is to create clear, accessible content and come up with effective, cheap ways to deliver that content to people.
That is exactly why we need the Good Machine of Truth.

What is it for?
We ourselves don’t yet know what the Machine should look like. We only know that there are some number of people—apparently tens of thousands of them—ready to spend 15–30 minutes a week on a good propaganda effort.
But what exactly they are ready to do, how old they are, where they live, etc.—we don’t know.
Maybe everyone wants to distribute leaflets. Then we need creative groups that can quickly and efficiently produce leaflet layouts. Everyone downloads them and distributes them in their own building entrance and neighboring ones.
Maybe nobody likes leaflets, and what people want is a newspaper. Then it needs an editorial team.
How many people are ready to do graffiti?
How many people want to limit their participation in the Good Machine of Truth to pressing the “retweet” button, and how many are ready to go door to door campaigning?
How receptive are people to unconventional forms of campaigning? Over here we asked people to add “types of activity,” and people threw out ideas like “hang nooses on lampposts with signs saying ‘this is for Kostin,’ ‘this is for Rotenberg.’”
It’s hard to say how popular that might be.
Then there’s the question of material resources: how many friendly print shops are there? who has storage space? where do we store the weapons?
None of this is at all clear, and that is exactly why we are taking inventory of the parts of our Good Machine of Truth.

In practice, it’s just a questionnaire. It will take you 10–15 minutes to fill out.

We’ll process the statistics and figure out what configuration our Machine should have. What it can do more easily, what is harder. And then we’ll start assembling it screw by screw.
And little by little, our cheerful leaflets, newspapers, videos, tweets, likes, posters, pickets, and so on will start to mess with the heads of wavering citizens telling all decent people the truth about this crooked regime.
The television propaganda box is retreating, let’s crack it open completely—and inside is the needle with Koschei’s death (a reference to the villain in Russian folklore).
That’s where Putin meets his end.
