THE VOLOGDA CITY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE HAS FILED A LAWSUIT SEEKING TO HAVE A FAKE LEAFLET DECLARED EXTREMist MATERIAL
On instructions from the First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, prosecutors in Vologda Region conducted an inquiry following an appeal by deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation regarding the posting online of a mock-up of a fake leaflet purportedly issued on behalf of the political party United Russia. The inquiry found that the leaflet mock-up posted online in electronic form contains knowingly false information about the organization that allegedly published it and about a connection between utility tariff increases in certain regions and the number of votes received by the United Russia party in elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. In addition, the information contained in the leaflet is aimed at inciting hostility and interethnic discord among residents of different constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and also contributes to fostering intolerance toward residents of the republics of Dagestan, Ingushetia, and Mordovia. Following the inquiry, the Vologda City Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit seeking to have the fake leaflet declared extremist material. Since the actions of the persons who posted the leaflet online show signs of a crime under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Russian Criminal Code (incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity), the materials have been forwarded to the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Vologda Region for review and a procedural decision. http://prokvologda.ru/news/2445/ I don't understand why they call this extremely truthful leaflet "fake." And I am convinced that hostility and intolerance between residents of different republics are created by those who encourage budget inequality among those very republics and opaque utility tariff-setting. How is it that a resident of Vologda Region not only has to support the freeloaders in the prosecutor's office, but also pays 1,228 rubles per gigacalorie for heating, while a resident of Ingushetia pays 905 rubles per gigacalorie? A resident of Vologda Region pays 21 rubles per cubic meter of cold water, while a resident of Dagestan pays 7.30. To me, it is obvious that the people of Vologda are being punished this way for giving United Russia 33.4%. That is exactly what the leaflet says:
Putin and Medvedev should be prosecuted under Article 282. Let the Vologda prosecutor's office think about that. The leaflet can be downloaded in a convenient format here. If those disgusting United Russia hacks are squealing over this sheet of paper like they're on a frying pan in hell, then it should be distributed even more aggressively.
