You should definitely donate money to Chirikova. She is now a registered candidate. She is a people’s candidate. She is the most popular candidate. She is the only candidate with a clear platform. Like any grassroots candidate, she has lots of volunteers working for free, but very little money. And money will be needed: for printing leaflets, and so on.
The maximum size of a candidate’s campaign fund in this election is small—less than 1 million rubles (about tens of thousands of U.S. dollars). But even that million still has to be raised. I’ve already sent Chirikova 2,000 rubles, the maximum amount an individual is allowed to donate. If you can, chip in too—Chirikova is running against that very same party of Crooks and Thieves.
