We Are Against Repression and Torture" on Saturday, October 27, starting at 3:00 PM. At that hour, along the route from the FSB building on Lubyanka Square to the headquarters of the Investigative Committee on Tekhnichesky Lane, there will be a chain of one-person pickets with signs protesting the rising wave of political repression, intimidation, violence, unlawful arrests, and fabricated charges that opposition activists and members of the civic protest movement in Russia are facing today. The chain of one-person pickets will stretch from Lubyanka Square along Lubyansky Passage, Maroseyka, Pokrovka, Old Basmannaya Street, Tokmakov Lane, and Radio Street, all the way to the Investigative Committee building. We call on all those who today stand AGAINST REPRESSION AND TORTURE to express their civic protest by walking peacefully, silently, and with dignity, without flags, banners, or placards, along this symbolic route FROM LUBYANKA TO LEFORTOVO beside the line of picketers, in order to protect them from possible violence and irresponsible attempts to obstruct their lawful protest. We remind all interested parties and authorities that current Russian law does not require any permits or prior approval for citizens to hold one-person pickets, and that a group of several one-person pickets may be recognized as a single public event only by court decision".
