Fyodor is 31 years old. He holds a Candidate of Sciences degree in chemistry (roughly equivalent to a PhD), graduated from the Chemistry Faculty of Moscow State University (MSU), and studied at the Department of High-Molecular Compounds. His daughter is four years old.

On May 6, Fyodor was struck on the back of the head with a baton and dragged several meters along the asphalt, then taken to a police station and kept there overnight. He was released in the morning, but on June 10, at around 4 a.m., officers came to the apartment and arrested him, taking not only all the computer equipment but also all the family photographs. The investigation has no evidence of Bakhov’s guilt apart from the dubious testimony of two police officers and a video recording showing three OMON riot police officers beating a man while Fyodor tries to help him. After nearly six months, Bakhov was released from pretrial detention (SIZO), with his custodial detention replaced by a travel restriction. Nikolai Svanidze speaks about Fyodor Bakhov:
