April 24 is a day of solidarity with Sergei Udaltsov.
Udaltsov is accused not merely of “taking part in the mass riots of May 6,” but of “organizing” them. I’m not even going to write about the charges—everyone has already read this nonsense, fabricated from the first word to the last. On February 9, 2013, Moscow’s Basmanny District Court changed Sergei Udaltsov’s pretrial restrictions from a travel ban to house arrest. He was prohibited from using the telephone or any other means of communication. On April 1, the Basmanny Court extended his house arrest until August 6, 2013.
Under Article 212 of the Russian Criminal Code, Udaltsov faces up to 10 years in prison. State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov says about Sergei:
