Even if posts about political prisoners end up taking up 99% of this LiveJournal, it still needs to be written. If only to remind myself.

Alexei is 22 years old. He is from Moscow and completed his mandatory military service as a sailor in the Northern Fleet. Polikhovich studied at the Russian State Social University and worked part-time as a senior courier for an insurance company.

On May 6, he was at Bolotnaya Square in Moscow. On the night of July 25–26, he was arrested in his apartment. Investigators accuse Alexei of “participation in mass riots” and “using violence against government officials.” This supposedly consisted of helping detainees and “grabbing the uniform clothing” of OMON riot police officers. The investigation has never produced any evidence other than a photograph of a person in a mask. Nor any proof that it was Polikhovich.

In a reference from his workplace, Polikhovich is described as a calm, reasonable, non-aggressive person who diligently fulfills his duties. Speaking about Alexei Polikhovich: Mikhail Shats
