It's amusing that I'm writing this on my 37th birthday. Originally, this post was only supposed to include a family photo and a simple "Thanks for the birthday wishes," but life makes its own adjustments, and everyone is asking me to say something about various unpleasant characters and their political manipulations. What can I say? Just now, like all of you, I watched yet another episode of the disgusting, deceitful clown show called "The public asks Sobyanin to call an early election, and Sobyanin listens to the public". Just a couple of months ago, with the same solemn expression, Sobyanin was saying that early elections were "inappropriate" and that "Muscovites don't want them." Apparently, they SUDDENLY do. Like you, I'm disgusted to watch this. And like you, I believe it humiliates both Muscovites and all the citizens of this country. My position on the election has not changed; I laid it out quite clearly here. I'll write in more detail soon. This year, people have been wishing me "freedom" suspiciously often. In that connection, I urge everyone to suppress panic and defeatism immediately. Everything will be fine. The truth will prevail, the villains will be punished, and their vile black palaces (with fur storage rooms) will collapse. Power—from a handful of occupiers—will return to the people. Oil and gas wealth will be distributed fairly, instead of going to one dacha cooperative or another. Moscow, whose budget is surpassed only by New York and Shanghai, will develop and grow richer, rather than turning city hall officials from millionaires into billionaires. Our task is to make that happen sooner. For that, we need to work hard, and I will do so. I am marking my 37th birthday in a good mood and with optimism. Above all, thanks to my family and to the support I receive from you. Thank you very much for that, and for today's birthday wishes as well. And here is the promised family photo, appropriate for the occasion:
