We’ve already made a lot of funny images and demotivators about State Duma deputies trying to "regulate" our internet.
For example, deputy Mizulina is a classic example of monstrous hypocrisy: she claims to be protecting Russian citizens from the harmful influence of the internet, while her own children live perfectly comfortably in Belgium and click away with their mouse without a care in the world, unaware that they are supposedly plunging themselves into an abyss of godlessness, gracelessness, and immorality. But jokes aside, extrajudicial website blocking already exists, and it is expanding. If all we do is sneer, we won’t even notice before websites and blogs start getting blocked for these very demotivators about deputies. All conscientious internet users must begin taking organized political action. The first and most obvious step is to sign the petition on ROI (the Russian Public Initiative platform) against Law No. 187. 60% of the signatures have already been collected. We know for sure that we have the needed 100,000 votes, because not long ago we gathered that many in support of a bill banning expensive cars for government officials. The issue of the internet is incomparably more important. Today is a great day for each of us to make a small effort, so that we can gather the remaining votes and, in doing so, launch a political campaign to defend our right to information and uncensored internet access. https://www.roi.ru/poll/petition/gosudarstvennoe_upravlenie1/otmenit-zakon-o-proizvolnyh-blokirovkah-internet-resursov-ot-02072013-187-fz-zakon-protiv-interneta/ Vote and spread the word about the vote, or tomorrow you’ll only be able to log on to VKontakte with written permission from your local police officer.
