LDPR will today send an appeal to Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika demanding an investigation into who is transferring money to the Yandex wallet of Moscow mayoral candidate Alexei Navalny. This was announced to journalists today by Liberal Democratic leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky. "We are appealing to Russia’s Prosecutor General with a demand to check who is sending money to Navalny’s account," he said. According to Zhirinovsky, Navalny currently has 20 million rubles in his campaign account, and "money is coming in through Yandex in amounts of 10,000 to 15,000 rubles every 10 seconds." "What, did people suddenly run to the banks and start taking part in this system?" the LDPR leader asked. "We can’t figure out who is transferring money to him—Washington or Chukotka (a remote region in Russia’s Far East)," Zhirinovsky claimed, referring to the way this money transfer system works. I understand that V. V. Zhirinovsky is terribly upset that in the entire country there is probably not a single 61-year-old who would give even one kopeck to his "party," while people that age are making the largest donations to us. But he, Prosecutor General Chaika, Sobyanin, and Putin will just have to accept it. It’s Chukotka, not Washington. The people are funding this election campaign.
