INTERFAX — Vladimir Vysotsky’s family rejects suggestions that the monument to the legendary poet-songwriter in central Moscow may have been desecrated by volunteers from the campaign headquarters of Moscow mayoral candidate and opposition figure Alexei Navalny. http://www.interfax.ru/ifx.asp?id=24075138-5240-014e-b855-d1bba984d0ee Lyudmila Abramova, Vladimir Vysotsky’s former wife, does not believe that Navalny’s supporters had anything to do with the desecration of the bard’s (singer-poet’s) monument in Moscow. She said this in a statement to Echo of Moscow (a Russian radio station). http://www.echo.msk.ru/news/1149480-echo.html I’m glad they said this, though I’m upset that they even had to speak out on such a matter. Sobyanin’s campaign operatives and the Moscow police, who are of course pursuing this line, have sunk to an absolutely disgraceful low in this whole story. A disgrace. I’m sure Muscovites will figure out who is right here.
