Well, well, well. So our old friend Yakunin is not only quietly siphoning billions out of Russian Railways and parking them in his family’s offshore accounts, but is also an outright legal nihilist, cynically defying the state authorities of the Russian Federation.
As you may recall, the Anti-Corruption Foundation established that this insatiable railway boss grabbed a huge chunk of someone else’s land for his estate with a fur-coat storage building.
We succeeded in getting his Cypriot company fined and ordered to demolish the illegal fence. However, yesterday’s aerial expedition by the ACF air unit (thanks to the brave pilots) showed that Yakunin is not even pretending to comply with the order. Everything remains exactly as it was.
So that’s how it is. So fare-dodgers who cheat Russian Railways out of 100 rubles are caught and fined, but when it comes to illegally annexing land worth several million dollars, they climb onto the tallest locomotive and spit down on the rulings of Rosreestr (Russia’s state real estate registry). And Rosreestr answers to Medvedev. And Medvedev answers to Putin. You could say they are spitting in Putin’s face through Rosreestr.
All right then. The Foundation will take several more legal steps against our greedy railway friend. And apparently we also need to prepare a bulldozer unit, to go along with the aviation brigade. That’s how we’ll pay him a visit next time—to take a look at the famous fur-coat storage building.
