I’m very sorry that this is happening.
The Yabloko party has announced the suspension of the leadership of its branch in Krasnodar Krai, ITAR-TASS reports, citing Yabloko chairman Sergei Mitrokhin. According to Mitrokhin, the leadership of Yabloko’s Krasnodar branch “interfered unsuccessfully in the Moscow election campaign” and proposed cooperating with the party’s political opponents. Mitrokhin did not specify which political opponent he meant. According to Leonid Zaprudin, deputy chairman of Yabloko’s Krasnodar branch, as quoted by Yugopolis, the conflict is connected in part to the fact that several months ago he transferred 5,000 rubles to Moscow mayoral candidate Alexei Navalny’s campaign. At a meeting of Yabloko’s federal bureau on Saturday, November 23, the question of expelling Zaprudin from the party was raised, but Andrei Rudomakha, the head of the Krasnodar branch of the political movement, spoke up in his defense. After that, bureau members decided to dismiss the entire leadership of Yabloko’s Krasnodar branch. http://lenta.ru/news/2013/11/23/yabloko/ YABLOKO’s Krasnodar branch is one of the most active. It already operates under intense pressure and constant lawlessness from Tkachev’s thugs (a reference to Alexander Tkachev, then governor of Krasnodar Krai). And now it is being attacked from Moscow as well, because during the Moscow campaign the Krasnodar members wrote a letter saying they believed it was wrong to fight Navalny instead of Sobyanin. Expelling someone just because he transferred 5,000 rubles to our campaign headquarters is an absolute disgrace. At the very start of this mayoral campaign, our regional branch warned the federal leadership that the election campaign was being run incorrectly. Unfortunately, no one listened to us then, and afterward the party’s Political Committee gave our appeal a negative assessment. Seeing the party’s shortcomings and the absence of internal party discussion, Leonid Zaprudin (a member of the party’s Federal Bureau) drafted a roadmap for party reform, and some members of the regional council supported this reform... Two months later, on November 23, the party’s Federal Bureau decided to expel Leonid Zaprudin for transferring 5,000 rubles to Alexei Navalny. You could hardly invent a more foolish pretext. http://mandrigelya.livejournal.com/17422.html This is unacceptable, and it is very painful that the YABLOKO party, where I was also a member and worked for many years, behaved this way. It’s not even just that YABLOKO is hurting itself—this makes things worse for all of us, and much better for all the crooks, from Tkachev to Putin. I send my support and gratitude to YABLOKO’s Krasnodar branch. It’s a shame this happened, but you will get through it.
