The video was filmed in late November. They keep spinning fairy tales about having a new emissions treatment system and no longer using an open flare. I recently photographed something similar myself: If only those guys at City Hall could be made to breathe this in—the same ones who report every year that there are no environmental problems connected with the oil refinery and that no maximum permissible concentration limits for emissions are being exceeded. What’s especially ironic is that Moscow’s first bike lane, opened with great fanfare and cries of "we’ve practically become Europe," runs from Maryino (where I live) straight to that flare. Come on over, ride, and breathe deeply for your health.
