Alas. The countries that supported Russia’s position on the "Resolution on Ukraine" were: Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, North Korea, Nicaragua, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe. So much for the talk of an "American conspiracy" and other nonsense. China, India, and Brazil all abstained, allowing the resolution to pass. As I wrote here: there is no doubt that both the residents of Crimea and the people of Russia support reunification, but the long-term consequences for Russia will be negative: they will weaken its international influence and lead to an accelerated expansion of NATO, the deployment of missile defense systems, and so on.
