I understand, of course, that all of you are absorbed in Putin’s press conference. But I have a favor to ask: On February 5, at 7:30 p.m., the Bilingua club will host the recording of the broadcast pilot for a show called "Fight Club." It’s going to be a political talk show on TV Center (a Russian television channel). I’ll be one of the hosts. Or rather, there will be two hosts: me and dimagubin, editor-in-chief of FHM. But all of this will only happen if the show turns out well. And that depends to a large extent on you. We need an audience. And not just some quiet mumblers, but ominous, politics-obsessed LiveJournal users. People who will react actively to everything that’s said and ask interesting questions. So please don’t bail on us and come support us (and by “us” I mean that yellow_reporter is involved in the project too). There’s a direct benefit in it for you as well: I’ll become famous and give all of you autographs; when I’m on TV, you’ll be able to shout, "I know him!" and thereby seriously boost your standing in the eyes of your relatives and acquaintances. Because everyone respects people who know some kind of celebrity. I realize that the Parker Prize (a Russian online/media award) is on the 4th, and you probably can’t be bothered to go anywhere two days in a row. But still. The topic will be: "Will Russian nationalism save Russia or destroy it?" Don’t tell me we’ve already chewed this topic to death in our debates. I know. But these won’t be our usual debates. This will be the magical world of television. By the way, our debates as a project will of course continue. The opponents: Kostya Krylov krylov versus Sergei Minaev amigo095. Accordingly, I’m on Krylov’s side, and Gubin is on Minaev’s side (heh heh heh, they’ve assembled quite the glamorous gang. I hope they’ll both be wearing something sparkly). So there you go. And I’d also be very happy to get your wishes, advice, and complaints after the recording. And most importantly—applaud for me as much as possible. Gubin has worked in television, but I haven’t, so I’m nervous. That’s all. Kazakov will put up a colorful banner in a sec.
