Parasites is an investigation by Alexei Navalny into the hidden income of the family of pro-Kremlin propagandists Margarita Simonyan and Tigran Keosayan.
The investigation argued that propaganda was not only an ideological instrument, but also a business. Behind some of the Kremlin’s most prominent public voices stood contracts, companies, and established financial flows. The project focused on Simonyan, head of Russia Today and other state-linked media outlets; Keosayan, a television host and pro-government commentator; and the companies, legal entities, and payments connected to their family. The investigation traced the system in detail: who received money, through which structures it moved, and how these payments were presented as ordinary commercial activity.
