The party was intended to serve as a legal vehicle for participating in elections, bringing together supporters, and building a nationwide political organization. The project grew out of earlier attempts to establish a political party, including the People’s Alliance and the Progress Party. Despite repeated registration refusals, legal obstacles, and the appropriation of party names, Navalny’s team continued to fight for the right to create an independent political organization. The name Russia of the Future reflected Navalny’s political vision directly: that Russia could be different — free, democratic, peaceful, and free from Putin, corruption, and arbitrariness. The authorities once again prevented the party from operating normally. Registration was denied, while pressure on Navalny’s supporters continued through administrative measures and criminal prosecutions.
