1/14 Конечно, лучше всего бить человека дубинкой по бедрам и пяткам. Очень больно и очень хорошо работает. В моей колонии с теми, кто чем-то недоволен, обычно так и поступают. Но что делать с теми, кого бить не разрешают? Ну, или пока не разрешают.

2/14 На этот случай русская тюрьма тоже изобрела огромное количество вариантов. Самое простое – держать человека в ШИЗО. А если ШИЗО само по себе его уже не «ломает», то можно для начала закинуть ему в камеру бомжа. Что и произошло сейчас со мной.

3/14 На тюремном жаргоне это называется «чёрт». Но мы назовем это корректно: осужденный, имеющий большие проблемы с бытовой гигиеной.

4/14 Если ты живешь в камере, и какой-то человек 24/7 от тебя на расстоянии вытянутой руки, и вы оба 24/7 в одном-двух метрах от туалета, а туалет – это дырка в полу, поддержание гигиены имеет абсолютно принципиальное значение.

5/14 И проблемный в этом смысле зэк моментально сделает вашу жизнь невыносимой. Но все по закону. О чем и сообщает администрация с радостными и счастливыми улыбками в ответ на мое возмущение.

6/14 По тюремным правилам я должен этого чувака из камеры выгнать – бить или угрожать, это уж как получится.

7/14 Но бить его – это, во-первых, моментально уголовная статья – везде видеокамеры, в этом и суть провокации. А во-вторых, избить несчастного больного хромого многолетнего алкоголика – такое совсем не проходит важный тестовый вопрос «а что бы сделал Иисус?».

8/14 Впрочем, немытый бедолага сам вскоре начал стучать в дверь и требовать перевести его в другую камеру и даже написал заявление.

9/14 Вообще это тоже святое тюремное правило и оно в законе прописано: если человек чувствует угрозу, то его «незамедлительно» должны перевести в другую камеру. В тюремной среде поступок осуждаемый, но тем не менее.

10/14 В моей же ситуации несчастного даже отказались переводить, заявив: «Мы ему провели медосмотр, побоев у него нет, вы же его не бьете, значит опасности для него нет. Вот если начнете бить, то переведем».

11/14 Все остальные камеры ШИЗО пустые, а несчастного бедолагу «поселили» на койку надо мной. Ее высота 180 см, туда и мне было бы забраться нелегко. Каждый вечер теперь смотрю, как несчастный хромой бедолага лезет на верхотуру.

12/14 Меня отдельно бесит инструментализация живого человека – превращение его в орудие давления. Активисты подбросили ему лезвие, чтобы у администрации был предлог закинуть его в мою камеру.

13/14 Комбинация угроз, криков и призывов к совести заставила его умываться и чистить зубы. Дал ему стиральный порошок, и он постирал одежду. Мы моем теперь руки с мылом несколько раз в день. И так далее. И так далее.

14/14 Чувствую себя каким-то странным воспитателем в детском саду, где вместо детей бездомные, живущие на теплотрассе. Ну, что могу сказать? Педагогика наука непростая, но работает 😉

3/13 This is exactly is what just happened to me. In prison lingo, such people are called "imps". But let's use the correct term: an inmate who has a big problem with household hygiene.

4/13 If you live in a cell, and some person is at arm's length from you 24/7, and you're both 24/7 within one or two meters of the toilet, and the toilet is just a hole in the floor, maintaining hygiene is absolutely crucial.

5/13 A cellmate who is problematic in this sense will instantly make your life unbearable. But everything is in accordance with the law. That's what the administration tells me me with gleeful smiles in response to my indignation.

6/13 The prison rules require me to kick this guy out of the cell beating or threatening him, whatever works best. But beating him is, first of all, an instant criminal offense - there are CCTV cameras everywhere, and that's the point of this provocation.

7/13 Secondly, beating a poor, sick, lame longtime alcoholic doesn't at all pass the important test question of "what would Jesus do?" However, the poor filthy guy himself soon began knocking on the door and demanding to be transferred to another cell. He even wrote a petition.

8/13 In fact, this is also a sacred prison rule, which is also written in the law: if a person feels threatened, they should be "immediately" transferred to another cell. It is a condemnable act in the prison environment, but still.

9/13 In my case they even refused to transfer the unfortunate man, saying: "We examined him, he has no injuries, you don't beat him, so there is no danger to him. We will transfer him if you start beating him though."

10/13 All the other punishment cells were empty, but the poor guy was "placed" specifically on the bunk above me. It is 180 cm high, and even I would have had trouble climbing up there. Now I watch the poor lame fellow climbing up to the top every evening.

11/13 What especially infuriates me is the instrumentalization of a living person, turning him into a pressure tool. They planted a blade on him so that the administration would have an excuse to throw him into my cell.

12/13 A combination of threats, shouting and appeals to conscience got him to start washing his face and brushing his teeth. I gave him laundry detergent, and he washed his clothes. We now wash our hands with soap and water several times a day. And so on and so forth.

13/13 I feel like a teacher in some weird kindergarten where instead of children there are homeless people who live by the heating main. Well, what can I say? Pedagogy is not an easy science, but it does work 😉
