The most astonishing thing about the awarding of 300 "journalists" for their "objective coverage of events in Crimea" is not that the Kremlin decided to draw up a formal list of the country’s leading political prostitutes and liars.
Nor is it the fact that both sides — those giving the awards and those receiving them — seem a little embarrassed: the decree is classified and was never published.
What is astonishing is that among the decorated journalists is the head of Roskomnadzor (Russia’s federal media and communications watchdog) (the same order, but 4th class, was also awarded to Roskomnadzor chief Alexander Zharov).
Citizen Zharov’s "journalism" is of a very obvious kind — he blocks websites. Including in ways that are outright illegal. He obstructs the dissemination of information. In other words, it was precisely for carrying out acts of censorship that Zharov was officially awarded the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland," alongside other similar "journalists."

P.S. We’ve fixed it and set up a proper RSS feed for this page.
P.P.S. On top of everything else, this Zharov is also a plagiarist. A bogus Candidate of Medical Sciences (roughly equivalent to a PhD in medical science).
