Remember the project called "Angry Citizen"? It was launched by the Nashi movement (a pro-Kremlin youth group), as a response to "RosYama" and "RosZhKH".
There was a lot of talk about how this was "real civic" activism, and supposedly even better than "opposition civic activism," because it was a trendy startup that attracted investors and paid for itself.
As was to be expected, the project turned out to be just another budget-funded feeding trough for con artists wrapped in Putinist slogans. Read RBC's investigation into them:
That's all there is to it. That's why I keep repeating it over and over: this government has no ideology whatsoever. Not conservative, not reactionary, not pro-European, not anti-European, not left-wing, not right-wing. There's no need to invent anything extra or assign meanings that simply aren't there.
It's very simple: the state budget, and crooks latched onto it. And they'll say whatever they have to, as long as they aren't driven away from the trough.
