Today we were informed that Russians have an ancient holy site, one as significant as the Temple Mount is for Muslims and Jews.
“Ancient Korsun, Chersonesus are of enormous civilizational and sacred importance, just like the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is for those who profess Islam and Judaism. And that is exactly how we will regard them from now on and forever.”
Okaaay. Thanks, good to know. Strange, though, that Russians have so blatantly ignored their Ancient Korsun all the way up to today. That’s no way to treat a holy site.
Because surely, the moment you heard Ancient Korsun, you all ran to Google to look up what it was, you sacrilegious lot.
Just out of curiosity. A poll.
1. Did you know what “Ancient Korsun” was before you looked it up online? Be honest.
2. Do you consider Korsun (Tauric Chersonesus) to be one of the main holy sites of the Russian people?
3. Can you name two or three facts about Korsun-Chersonesus without resorting to Wikipedia? Honestly now. “It’s in Crimea” doesn’t count.
P.S. And of course, don’t forget to vote.
