If you’ve heard a hundred times—and you definitely have—"The opposition offers nothing and has no clear demands," then I strongly urge you to take a look at the "Medvedev government’s anti-crisis plan".
Here’s what it contains:
The key message: we’re simply waiting for oil prices to rise again, and pinning all our hopes on Mother Oil.
Some vague boilerplate about structural reforms (where have you been for the last 15 years?!) and the importance of developing the "Skolkovo Innovation Center" (I’m not exaggerating, it actually says that).
A table showing how 1 trillion rubles will be poured into state-owned banks.
Not the slightest hint that sanctions and "counter-sanctions" even exist, let alone what to do about them.
Not a word about how to respond to the real challenges of our time—why Russia has fallen in the economic freedom ranking to the level of Guinea, and to 136th place in the Corruption Perceptions Index. Because it is obvious that these are exactly the things that led us into this crisis.
Decentralization, judicial reform, and all the other key causes of the political and economic crisis that even openly pro-Kremlin politicians talk about—none of that is there.
Now look at the demands of the "Anti-Crisis March". These are completely clear, specific, and logical steps that society is waiting for—both political and economic.
So, once again: over 15 years, these people have stolen, squandered, and failed at everything. Falling oil prices have simply exposed these naked emperors to the public. They have nothing to offer the country—but we do!
Everyone to the "Spring" Anti-Crisis March on March 1, 2015!
