A rather interesting and candid interview with Grigory Alexeyevich.

One may regret that he is drawing a line under the idea of creating a single democratic list for the elections, but a clear position is always better than beating around the bush. If it cannot be done, then there is no point wasting time on it.

We need to focus on substantive issues, not on a political intrigue that has been unworkable since 1993.

Dividing up the single-member districts is a realistic task, and it needs to be done. I will prepare my proposals on this.

By the way, I highly recommend reading Kynev’s article, in which he offers a very interesting discussion of the potential prospects for unification and backs it all up with numbers.
