Belov has just been sentenced: 7.5 years in prison.
The case against Sasha was not merely fabricated — it was simply made up from beginning to end. I know what I’m talking about — I was called as a witness in this trial. No one there even understood what any of it was supposed to be about. The indictment was incoherent nonsense.
Belov is being imprisoned for one reason alone: he represents the part of the nationalist movement that did not submit to Putin and stood for national interests, rather than glorifying the war against Ukraine or succumbing to imperialist frenzy.
Belov and his associates consistently advocated joining forces between nationalists and liberals. That is what the Kremlin wants least of all.
The judges, investigators, and prosecutors involved in Belov’s case must be held criminally accountable.
