Few things irritate me as much as the exclamatory question: “So what are you proposing? You don’t even have a positive agenda?!”
We do have an agenda, we do have proposals, we draft legislation, and we answer every question—yet still it’s always, “you’re not proposing anything.”
Even seemingly decent people with democratic views like to insert masochistic nonsense into their texts, such as “the opposition failed to offer anything,” or “the protest movement could not say what it wanted,” or “those gathered in the streets had nothing to offer society.”
Who is to blame for this?
We are, we decided. We should be annoyed only with ourselves, and patiently explain things to everyone else. So we (Vladimir Ashurkov, Leonid Volkov, and I) asked respected, thoughtful people (including Sergei Guriev and Kirill Rogov, many thanks to them) to put questions to us, and we answered them. We turned it into short, simple texts. This is where we will keep—and expand—our positive agenda and our vision of the future.
So if you hear somewhere that Navalny (or the opposition / protest movement / Progress Party) is not proposing anything, feel free to share this link: https://navalny.com/issues/
