A packed day. We opened two campaign offices, held two press conferences, and had two excellent meetings with campaign volunteers.
In the morning, we were in Vladimir. I wrote about the curious format of resistance from the local authorities, but after that everything went very well and calmly.
Then we went to Ivanovo. The Ivanovo region has been an unseen presence in the campaign for several months now. This is where Plyos is, with Medvedev’s dacha “Milovka”, the little house for the duck, and everything else that has already become a symbol of corruption in Russia.
Everyone here knows all these facts perfectly well; many things do not need explaining. Shuttered industrial plants, salaries of 15,000 rubles (about $160) and a palace worth 20 billion rubles (about $210 million) — that is the Putin system, all of it, right here in the Ivanovo region.
The meeting with the volunteers had an amazing atmosphere. Probably precisely because of how close we were to Plyos.
Thank you to everyone who came!
