A Yandex employee left to work at Facebook, and before that he donated 300,000 rubles (about $3,000) to our campaign.

And the best part of his post wasn’t even the 300,000 rubles (wonderful as that is in itself), but how he explained his motive: so there would be something to come back to.

Exactly right. Our campaign is about making sure all of us have a normal country. About pulling it out of this swamp. About making sure it doesn’t fall completely apart in a couple of years, just as the authorities’ officially embraced axiom says: “No Putin, no Russia.”

But we are here. Stepan Koltsov may want to return home, only to be told: you know, there’s no Putin, and so there’s no Russia anymore either. There’s nowhere to return to. That is exactly where all of this is heading. Putin has turned into a mad emperor staging the last day of Pompeii.

All this madness, all this theft, all this abuse of people—like today’s sentence against the unfortunate and innocent Zimovets—will not pass without consequences. It is all killing Russia. And there is no one to stop them but us.

Thank you so much, Stepan!

And you, citizen, be like Stepan Koltsov. Help however you can, especially with money.

So that there is a place to live, and a place to return to.
