What a great rally it turned out to be. I personally hadn’t spoken from a stage in Moscow for more than 2.5 years — the authorities here don’t approve anything for us — so special thanks from me to the organizers for the chance to speak with the wonderful residents of the capital.

What matters is that this was a rally in defense of the internet, but every speaker made it clear: they are destroying the internet because it is a space of freedom where we can talk about every problem.

I don’t know exactly how many people were there, but a lot. The view from the stage was शानदार.

The organizers — the Libertarian Party and those aligned with it — did a very good job with everything. From the music and the hosts to the speeches. Well done.

The police stopped me three times, and each time, on camera, warned me not to dare call on people to take part in the May 5 protest.

In the chaos of the rally, I might have forgotten to do that. But after three reminders, that became impossible.

Street protests like these are the most important thing we can do right now, both for the country and for ourselves. And there will have to be very, very many of them. Otherwise, nothing will be achieved.

Everyone who came did an amazing job. Everyone who didn’t — do better. Find your city here and come.

May 5.
