Public exposure is what police officers who unlawfully detain people fear most; officials who steal public funds; investigators who fabricate criminal cases. By spreading information about abuse and lawlessness, you help limit it, and by arming yourself with knowledge of your rights and legal procedures, you protect yourself from police violence.
OVD-Info reports daily on political persecution in Russia, provides information about rights and laws through accessible guides and services, and also offers and coordinates legal assistance. This work is funded by ordinary people.
