Yesterday, Dmitry Peskov commented on our investigation into a prosecutor acting as a foreign agent, saying that “when he was appointed, we reviewed his documents and found nothing wrong.”
Well then. They didn’t look very carefully. That means the ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation) works better than the FSB (Federal Security Service).
In any case, even Peskov wouldn’t dare say, “So what if he has a house in Spain and hotels in Montenegro?”
Putin personally made Denis Popov the Moscow prosecutor. And now I am personally writing to him demanding Popov’s dismissal.
Earlier today, I took part in a two-hour livestream organized by journalists from Echo of Moscow (a Russian radio station). There were lots of different questions, and one of them was: is it acceptable to make things up about United Russia in order to beat it in the elections?
I answered: there’s no need to make anything up; the facts are enough. Right now Putin will break the law, start protecting his prosecutor Popov, and refuse to fire him. And then, in the State Duma elections, we’ll simply make sure every Muscovite hears about this story. That’s all.
