Moscow’s “Voters’ Strike” protest took place on Tverskaya Street on January 28, 2018. Alexei Navalny managed to come out and greet the participants, but he was detained on the way to Pushkin Square; later, from the police station, he wrote to supporters that they were not coming out for him, but for their own future. This gallery captures one of the key episodes of the campaign after he was denied registration: Navalny was barred from the election, but people still took to the streets. It was an important moment in the shift from a campaign for participation in the election to a campaign against its imitation.
