How the Anti-Corruption Foundation was declared a "foreign agent." ⠀ A perfect story that proves beyond doubt that Putin is nothing more than an ordinary lying fraudster. Nothing in Russia will get better as long as he and people like him remain in power. ⠀ So. ⠀ 1. By mid-August, it becomes clear that in the Moscow elections scheduled for early September, the candidates of United Russia (the ruling pro-Kremlin party) have no good prospects at all. ⠀ 2. The Kremlin and the mayor’s office barred all independent candidates from the election. More than that, they had them all arrested. But polling still shows that no one wants to vote for the "United Russia independents." ⠀ 3. What especially enrages Putin’s administration are ACF’s investigations into officials from the mayor’s office and United Russia. We show millions of viewers their foreign assets. Muscovites who learn about the Austrian hotels owned by United Russia’s Moscow leader definitely will not vote for him. ⠀ 4. Putin throws a tantrum and demands that ACF be shut down. ⠀ 5. A completely invented and fabricated criminal case is created over "ACF money laundering." They claim some billion rubles (about 1 billion RUB) was stolen. It later turns out there was no billion at all, but the case is opened anyway. ⠀ 6. The fabricated criminal case is used to freeze ACF’s bank accounts. ⠀ 7. The Kremlin arranges payments of 29,000 rubles and 110,000 rubles from some Roberto Fabio in Spain TO A FROZEN ACCOUNT. ⠀ In other words, these "foreign payments" were arranged on September 6 and September 17, when our account was already frozen. We could do nothing with it. We could not return the money to the sender. ⠀ At this point, even ISIS could send 10,000 to that account and declare: we are funding ACF. ⠀ 8. The Justice Ministry happily announces: ACF received foreign money. ACF is a "foreign agent"! ⠀ They really are outright crooks. And this clumsy scheme was organized on Putin’s personal orders, because he hates ACF. ⠀ In front of the whole country: the fabrication of a criminal case, forgery, provocation, and blatant lies. ⠀ How can anyone deal with a government like this?
