This is enough to make your head spin. For a whole year, @evgeniyroizman and I had been planning to go for a run together. Finally, we did it this morning. ⠀ And in the last stretch he goes, “Well then, next time let’s do a 15K.” Easy for him to say. He recently completed an Ironman, and for him a 15K is like me waking up and saying to myself: the weather’s lousy today, I’m not going running. But now I’ll have to run it. ⠀ And really, Evgeny—besides being a wonderful person and the true “people’s mayor” of Yekaterinburg—is also the reason I started running at all (even though I’d hated running since school). ⠀ I kept reading his Saturday posts: “Come to Plotinka (the city dam embankment in Yekaterinburg). We won’t run fast, and afterward we’ll have tea and pies,” and it sounded so great that at first I just wanted the tea and pies. Then I wanted running and tea. Then just running. So I started running. And you should too.
