Bitza parkrun - ✔️ ⠀ A great course through the woods and a really friendly crowd. Honestly, parkruns are an absolutely brilliant invention. It’s hard to even say what there’s more of here: sport or a fun social hangout. ⠀ I’ve only run nine different ones so far, and my ambitious plan to run all the Moscow parkruns in 2019 has obviously failed. ⠀ I’ll make up for it next year, and you should definitely join in. These are completely free 5-kilometer runs in parks. ⠀ Every Saturday at 9 a.m. ⠀ There are 20 of them in Moscow. They’re held in many cities across Russia too. Google “parkrun” and find the one closest to your home. ⠀ If you’re a beginner runner, you probably think the way I used to: Nah, that’s intimidating. Everyone there probably runs like moose, and I’ll be dragging along at the back. ⠀ Nothing like that at all. Well, okay, some people do run like moose, sure. But the vast majority of participants aren’t pushing hard at all—they’re just enjoying a run in the park. Finish the run, then go have tea with the moose and the non-moose. Awesome! #parkrun #parkrun #parkrunbitza
