My first 10K race — ✔️ As the leader of the running club chapter called "Dying at the Finish," I’m happy to report: for the first time in my life, I ran an official 10K. The kind with registration, a bib number, encouraging folks along the route, and cups of water people toss at their own feet. Actually, this was only the third time in my life I’d run a "ten," and I finally managed to do it in under an hour. Huge thanks to my wonderful coach Lena @el_pshenka. I seriously doubted I could run it in less than an hour, but her powerful motivational speech went like this: - You think this is hard for you? What about me? Usually with you I get 5 kilometers of whining, "I can’t do this anymore," and now it’s going to be ten! It worked. And I didn’t even hate running and runners by the end (well, almost), which is usually what happens to me as I get closer to the finish. But honestly, it was great. A huge number of people, and everyone was nice and friendly. Yes, a lot of them were wearing leggings, but I’m almost used to that by now. Congratulations to everyone who ran today’s #MoscowHalfMarathon and the accompanying 10K and 5K races! Run, citizens — it’s not as scary as it seems. #running #dying_at_the_finish #Luzhniki #leggings
